Luminosity of Mind

But does this mean that the mind is empty like space, which is the absence of substance and form? Is mind just the absence of anything, and hence nothing? Do we mean that mind is just nothingness?

No, because mind, although empty, is nonetheless endowed with cognition, with the fact that it is consciousness...Despite its emptiness, there is clarity of mind...It is pure by its nature. It is luminous, very bright, very clear. You cannot separate its emptiness from its clarity any more than you cannot separate fire from heat.

แม้สภาวะเดิมแท้ของจิตจะว่างจากการปรุงแต่ง อารมณ์ความรู้สึกทั้งหลาย แต่จิตก็ไม่เป็นเช่นท้องฟ้าที่มีเพียงความว่างเป็นคุณลักษณะ จิตเดิมแท้แม้จะว่างแต่มีความชัด บริสุทธิ์ กระจ่างใส เราไม่สามารถแบ่งแยกความว่างออกจากความกระจ่าง ดุจดังไม่สามารถแยกความร้อนออกจากไฟ
