Earthquake in Chengdu

Several friends called and sent me email and SMS to check about Lhasray Rinpoche. We called him last night. Rinpoche is doing well. The epicenter of the quake was about 90 kms. from where his family lives and the city center of Chengdu. In a day or two I'll call him again to convey his Thai students' regards and concerns. The Thai consulate in Chengdu was also not affected by the quake.

A natural disaster like this not only ends up with deaths and injuries but mental suffering of the relatives and survivals. These days we should remember the victims both in China and Myanmar with great compassion. Recite Mani or Tara mantra as many as possible, meditate and generate our loving kindness toward them, and pray for their rebirths in Sukhavati.
