No Hesitation to Conduct Great Virtue

A question may arise why we need such a stupa of 36 meters or 108 feet high. Why is such a huge object necessary? The stupa is not simply another construction to be created on earth; it's not built merely for the sake of artistic beauty. Its positve energy to generate love and compassion, peace and harmony in this conflict-ridden world is enormous. The greater virtue we make, the greater benefit it will bring. When it comes to sinful action or non-virtue, the lesser we make, the better it is. This is one of the reasons why the foundation conceived of this formidable project. Another thing is that we got a rare opportunity in taking the precious human birth in this life. We have unlimited potential to make good deeds for other sentient beings - animals, hell beings, pretas, demi-gods and even gods who have lesser potential to liberate themselves. Although we usually say this age is a dark age, it's also the age of great virtue. The stupa to be built will last many lifetimes to come. It will stand as a symbol of faith and devotion in Buddhism as well as that of determination to bring virtue to the world.
