Oneness of Body and Mind
RINSING MY BODY
MY HEART IS CLEANSED.
THE UNIVERSE IS PERFUMED
WITH FLOWERS.
ACTIONS OF BODY, SPEECH,
AND MIND ARE CALMED.
Often in daily life, our body and mind
are separate. sometimes our body is here
but our mind is lost in the past or focused
on the future, possessed by anger, hatred,
jealousy, or anxiety.
if we can breathe mindfully, we bring mind
and body together, and they become one
again. this is what is meant by the expression,
"oneness of body and mind."
in cleaning our bodies, we can also take the
time to clean and clear our hearts and minds.
there is no separation.
Thich Nhat Hanh, quoted by Vancelee Teng
This expression of oneness is reflected in the white and red t-shirt with the number "one". Teng designed these t-shirts for the foundation to raise funds for the stupa and the foundation's projects. The others feature Tibetan words with the following meaning:
White and pink t-shirt: Compassion symbolized by HH the Dalai Lama's eye glasses.
White and blue t-shirt: Om, peace, emptiness, compassion, wisdom, Buddha, Om Mani Padme Hum, Bhodisattva, Enlightenment. These words are bound together in a form of a stupa.
I would like to invite everyone to make merit for the stupa and help make the difference in Tibetan lives by buying these t-shirts. Each is a pure cotton costing only 250 baht.
